Role Description

The Corporate Development Lead is a strategic individual contributor responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing growth opportunities for Aderant. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will focus on inorganic growth (M&A, investments, and partnerships), market intelligence, and enterprise strategic initiatives. The Corporate Development Lead will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive value creation, accelerate growth, and strengthen the company’s long-term competitive position.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in corporate development within a software company, private equity, or investment banking.
  • Strong track record in M&A execution including target sourcing, diligence, and integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex markets, build business cases, and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Executive presence with the ability to engage credibly with internal leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.

Responsibilities

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Lead market mapping, pipeline development, and opportunity analysis for potential acquisitions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, advisors, and target companies.
  • Support parent company deal team with end-to-end deal execution including initial screening and detailed due diligence
  • Coordinate post-acquisition integration and value capture ensuring synergies are realized across finance, operations, product, and go-to-market teams.

 

Strategic Partnerships & Alliances

  • Manage and expand relationships with key partners to maximize value creation.
  • Identify and evaluate new partnership opportunities that enhance product, market reach, or revenue growth.
  • Develop business cases and financial frameworks to assess partnership ROI.

 

Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning

  • Maintain ongoing market and competitor intelligence, producing regular reports and thought leadership for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the executive team and finance team with annual and long-range planning.
  • Continuously analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.
  • Provide the CEO and CFO with strategic insights and recommendations to accelerate growth and continued market leadership.
