Role Description

Aderant is seeking a Database Administrator who is passionate and excited to learn new technologies and to assist with the increasing demands on our cloud solutions. We are seeking an experienced application support specialist that can contribute to our application operations at cloud scale. Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA (2016 or later versions) 
  • Strong database design and administration skills 
  • Proficient in T-SQL, SSMS, and SQL Server Agent 
  • Proficient in common backup and recovery principles inclusive of Disaster Recovery 
  • Database Troubleshooting experience 
  • Database Tuning and Performance experience 
  • Experience with MSSQL on cloud platforms (AWS and Azure preferably) 
  • Experience leveraging Powershell for common DBA functions 
  • Solid understanding of version control systems 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to convey technical content in clear and correct manner using language appropriate for the audience 
  • Ability to accommodate changes in deadlines and priorities 
  • Ability to balance multiple deliverables with prioritization and responsiveness 
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: 
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) Administration 
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services 
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services 
  • Experience with Transactional Replication 
  • SQL Server Always On clustering 
  • Agile Software Development including Scrum 
  • Microsoft Certifications (SQL, DBA, etc.) 
  • Teraform or Ansible automation frameworks 

Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage and maintain SQL Server instances utilized within our Sierra operations team 
  • Monitor and tune database performance (queries, indexes, resource usage) 
  • Implement and manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery 
  • Assist customers with data integration needs and access management 
  • Ensure database security, integrity, stability, and system availability 
  • Automate routine database maintenance tasks 
  • Collaborate on service delivery within a global operations team 
  • Assist within our DBA team on database design, deployments, and troubleshooting 
  • Monitor system health and performance  
  • Create and maintain documentation, processes, and procedures
